Gender equality is fundamental to the achievement of human rights and is an aspiration that benefits all of society, including girls and women. The goal of gender equality, however, still remains largely out of reach, as illustrated by the recent wave of women's protests against sexual harassment, assault and gender violence (e.g. #MeToo movement). In parallel to calls for increased equality, a wave of mobilisation against gender equality has appeared in the public discourse. Conservative, authoritarian and populist voices in many democracies are now contesting the equal participation of men and women in society under the auspices of a "war on gender ideology." This backlash against women's empowerment carries considerable implications for anti-discrimination laws, policies protecting women against domestic violence, reproductive health（e.g. #Heartbeat Bill in US） and the establishment of gender quotas.

This year, we invite young people from all over the world to discuss the gender inequality, think about how we can change people’s ideas through actions. We hope to convey a message to everyone：All Genders are equal.

Entry Requirements

Entry is open to students from any country and any school. Candidates must be 21 years old, or younger, on the date of the submission deadline, 1st April 2022.
